Requirements For Membership

New members are inducted in the Spring of each year.  Students must have completed the application in March of that year.

Requirements for membership are as follows:

For Students Graduating in 2009

1. Student must have maintained at least a B+ average in all college preparatory level mathematics courses taken prior to admission, with a minimum requirement of two courses.
2. Student must have served as a member of math team for one year.
3. Student must have either:
   1. served as a member of math team for a second year
   2. worked as a math tutor or assistant for a year.  Such work must be verified by a math teacher.

For Students Graduating in 2010 and there after:

1. Student must have maintained at least a A- average in all honors college preparatory level mathematics courses and a A average in all other college preparatory level mathematics courses taken prior to admission, with a minimum requirement of two courses.
2. Student must have served as a member of math team for two years.
3. Student must have either:

In order to wear the Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society pin at graduation, a student must remain in good standing within the honor society by remaining active through scholarship and service in mathematics.  Specifically, students must be a member of math team and/or perform service during the school day under the supervision of a math teacher during her senior year.
