Notes Regarding Graphing Calculators:
All mathematics classes in grades 9 through 12 require graphing calculators. Only the Texas Instrument graphing calculator models listed below are allowed. If you have any questions, please contact the mathematics department at mathdept@asjli.org prior to purchase.
All of the models are compatible and differ in the amount of memory. The TI-Nspire does have many additional features, but mathematics classes will only utilize features available on the 84+, 83+, and 83 family of calculators. You may want to consider purchasing a used graphing calculator at considerable savings.
· TI-Nspire (note: Do not purchase the TI-Nspire CAS) This is the next generation of graphing calculators produced by Texas Instrument. It should sell for about the same price as the TI-84+Silver Edition (approximately $132).
· TI-84+ Silver Edition (approximately $126) and TI-84+ (approximately $105)
· TI-83+ Silver Edition (discontinued) and TI-83+ (approximately $96.50)
· TI-83 (discontinued)
If you do purchase a new calculator, please give your mathematics teacher the Proof of Purchase seal found on the packaging.
